I have been a professional counselor for over 20 years. I am dedicated to improving the mental health and overall wellbeing of individuals, families, couples, and groups. I have extensive experience in behavior modification, coping skills of at-risk populations, solution-focused initiatives, and mental health support. Throughout my career, I have developed a thorough knowledge of the principles and methods of coordinating mental challenges and noting the effect that human dynamics and societal trends and influences have on an individual. In addition to my work as a counselor, I also have experience in conducting behavioral health assessments and providing intake services.I find that I am most effective at my job when I am able to build positive working relationships with patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff, ensuring that needs are met and improvements are made in patients’ lives. To this end, developing these relationships is the most important part of my practice. In addition to patient care, I am also proficient in designing and creating training manuals, online learning modules, and course materials as well as public speaking. For the last several years, I have been working specifically with military families and children, helping them deal with deployment, reintegration, relocation, anger management, test preparation, time management, parent/ child conflict, sibling rivalry, stress management, conflict resolution, etc. It is my privilege to help individuals and families change their lives for the better by improving their relationships, coping skills, and overall mental health.I am a member of the following professional organizations:• Employee Assistance Professionals Association 2016- Present • American Counseling Association- Affiliate 2013- Present • American Psychological Association- Student Affiliate 2002- Present• Psi Chi- Student Affiliate 2002- 2010• Association of Black Psychologists- Graduate Affiliate 2001-2005
