As a key point of contact within the head office team my responsibilities included:- Management of export shipments to specifically assigned markets and understanding all local requirements to share within the business.- Responsibility for creating export documentation to match local customs requirements at destination, therefore ensuring full compliance with International logistics legislation and procedures to limit potential claims against the business.- Communication of the progress of stock movement to Business partners so that issues are highlighted as and when they arise. Identify and solve any issues that may arise.- Provide stock movement reports to Business partners.- Manage external service providers to ensure the effective movement of stock within required lead times and to agreed costs.- Provide support and market intelligence for new store openings into new or existing markets.- Maintain an up to date knowledge of Customs and Excise CFSP, classification and duty valuation.- Management of 3PL and external suppliers.- Tariff maintenance

Working within the bookings and customer service team my responsibilities include:- Process all bookings, whether by telephone, fax, email or internet efficiently. Acceptance of bookings is where practicable to reflect Global Trade Business plans for each port and required Net Contribution (NCP)- Weekly call to VIP customers to confirm bookings and provide feedback on export services. - Clear depot logs for cancelled and outstanding releases as well as complete regular transshipment reports.- Utilise the Australian Short Term Weekly report summary and equipment status reports to ensure that sufficient equipment is available to cover all bookings. Additionally liaising with stevedoring contractors to ensure that bookings materialise into actual shipments.- Sending personal notifications to VIP customers in case of vessel delays, port omissions and vessels phasing in and out.- Contacting customers to ensure that MT containers are packed in order to avoid detention costs. - Booking hazardous/dangerous cargo as per statutory regulations and other agreed requirements imposed by authorities.- Providing accurate logistical advise and assistance to customers regarding the shipment/movement of the customers cargo.- Link bookings to service contracts to ensure correct invoicing and reduce rate disputes. - Handle various customer enquiries related to bookings, vessel details, transshipment details, PRA's, equipment, container releases, receival dates, etc. - Develop and implement customer service standards that add value to the overall service.- Develop and implement Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to provide meaningful measurements of productivity and quality performance in order to maximise productivity and quality outcomes within budget.- Maintain thorough knowledge of governmental rules and regulations.
