Master ThesisZeiss Lab @ Medical University Of Vienna May 2022 - Dec 2022Vienna, AustriaThis project tackled the high cost barrier of Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) by leveraging a cost-effective light source commonly used in telecommunications. Wavelength shift capabilities have been demonstrated via thermal tuning, paving the way for low-cost swept-source OCT devices. I designed, implemented and compared two low-cost scanners for such a device — utilizing MEMS mirrors and mechanically-controlled lenses. One of them has been validated for full-eye OCT in vivo examination. The system with low-cost scanners on board presents a viable solution for point-of-care medical diagnostics, promising expanded access to OCT. -

Research StudentIpg Photonics Sep 2019 - Jul 2020Fryazino, Moscow Region, RussiaMy work in the Research Department comprised advanced measurements of optical absorption coefficients of nonlinear optical crystals. A novel method of piezoresonance laser calorimetry (PRLC) was utilised for evaluating small optical absorption coefficients. In my work, the PRLC method was developed for its application to crystals with a pronounced surface absorption and was proposed a practical way to calculate the surface absorption coefficient. -

The project aimed to study organic singlet fission (SF-) materials and their efficiency on a traditional for solar cells silicon substrate. Using custom-designed confocal laser microscope we managed to select the most suitable substances for SF-process at organic-inorganic interface. -

The challenge was to find proper polymer concentrations to get as pure fraction as we could. The fraction purity study was based on spectrophotometry and Raman spectroscopy.
