Developed a new technique of infrared strobing to improve image quality in the dark environment, specifically for surveillance cameras. The system aims to synchronize the light with rolling shutter timing. To provide such synchronization signal, existing FPGA codes and image sensor driver have to be modified. On the hardware side, I also explored different LED driver (DC-DC converter) topologies which enable responsive strobing. Power/energy consumption, blurriness, noise, and cost of system will be evaluated from the ongoing prototype. Skills involved: SystemVerilog, C development in Yocto Framework, and electrical analysis.
