Although transcription factors, such as the glucocorticoid receptor, can bind to thousands of genomic binding sites only a small subset of genes are regulated by its activity. Using genome editing technologies and epigenetic analysis I could show that the 3D genome organization and enhancer blocking can direct enhancers to drive the expression of different transcript variants.
