Ensuring the welfare of women, men, girls and boys, particularly in emergency situations, is one of CARE’s priorities. CARE is fulfilling these commitments by responding to the sexual and reproductive health needs of women and girls in Chad, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Pakistan, Mali, south Sudan and Djibouti, through the Supporting Access to Family Planning and Post-Abortion Care (SAFPAC) project. SAFPAC is setting new standards for emergency response, as we develop good practices and work with others to advocate for high quality family planning, post-abortion care, and other important sexual and reproductive health services in all emergency humanitarian responses.

•Led the set-up and operation of the IRC office and WPE Program in UN House PoC, South Sudan during 2013 crisis.•Coordinated GBV working group Meeting in PoC - UNHPUSE •Managed a WPE team responsible for implementing Clinical Care for Sexual Assault Survivors, women’s Leadership & advocacy, EASE, Adolescent Girls programming, SASA, GBVIMS, psychosocial support and providing quality case management in Juba and supporting IRC field offices, South Sudan.•Represented IRC on the GBVIMS Inter-Agency Steering Committee. •Provided remote technical support to 5 IRC country programs on data collection, entry, analysis, and information sharing on GBVIMS

•Worked with the community to provide appropriate support services for child survivors of abuse, and survivors of sexual violence through training and strengthening of referral mechanisms•Used participatory methodology within the community to create awareness messages and peer education groups to promote behavior change towards issues of child protection and GBV•Facilitated PSS sessions for children and livelihoods sessions for women within safe space centres•Provided immediate psycho-social support to survivors of child abuse and to survivors of GBV•Used Cesvi a comprehensive case management system to follow the progress of child and adult clients•Used monitoring and evaluation tools to ensure that services and programming for adults and children who are survivors of abuse are appropriate, timely and that the guiding principles of case management are adhered to.

I was responsible to supervise a team of GBV project staff to effectively implement GBV prevention and response activities targeted returnees from the North Sudan and Uganda.
