I design & create unique art- and character-led lamps from galvanised iron and brass pipe fittings—adding an exciting lighting vibe to your home décor & interior design projects, or gift ideas. Much of my work is commissioned art—bespoke, one-of-a-kind, character lamps to your personal brief—such as music-themed or sports-themed lamps like Jimi Hendrix or Muhammad Ali. They make wonderful presents for yourself or for distinctive occasion gifts such as birthday gifts; Valentine’s Day gifts; wedding gifts; anniversary gifts or award-winner gifts for events.My lamps are pieces of contemporary art, sculpture lighting—functional yet aesthetically-pleasing lamps that are increasingly detailed to represent the character, animal or item on which the lamp is based. Many designs are commission pieces—working in collaboration with you, the client, to create your own bespoke lamp. This might be from a photograph of a family member playing sport; a favourite rock star; a particular hobby or pastime—the design choices are endless and the uniqueness of the final lamp makes it a true one-off creation!I gain immense joy & satisfaction from taking basic industrial components and assembling them into a semblance of the chosen character. With subtle positioning of the components, I am able to covey elements of movement and an identifying pose.My philosophy has always been one of under promise and over deliver! I love to go that extra mile with the detail in my lamps. In addition, features like the incorporation of a magical, touch-sensor switch, built into the wooden base on which these types of lamps will sit. This exciting electrical wiring addition allows you to turn the light on or off simply by touching anywhere on the metal body of the lamp. This all gives me immense pride in my creations, credence to the Wacky Lamps brand and definitely makes me credible in my industry sector.All in all, my unique character lamps are the ultimate, special, one-of-a-kind gift.
