This position within the foundation requires competency in all areas of mental health screening, assessment and diagnosis as well as treatment. Other duties include crisis intervention, psychological testing, interpretation and application. Some of the reasons this position is so attractive to me is the opportunity to develop and implement new innovative curriculum such as Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and 12 Step Facilitation as a venue to help addicts recognize the emotionality behind the choice they make when deciding to use chemicals. Teaching has become the foundation of the position which is exciting and rewarding.
