is President of the Board of Directors of the Bayles Lake Homeowners Association in Loda, Illinois. Bayles Lake is a private community in east-central Illinois comprising 265 homes and families. The Board oversees and manages the 237 acre stocked fishing and boating lake, as well as the complete physical infrastructure of the community (parks, recreation, roads, water, sewer and drainage). He joined the Board in March 2023 and was elected President in October 2023.In addition he is President, Chief Executive Officer, and a Founding Member of Illinois Rocstar LLC (IR). He specializes in executive leadership, business development, and strategic planning for technical organizations. His expertise lies in the area of materials science and mechanical testing, and in the organization, establishment, and execution of large multidisciplinary scientific and engineering research programs. Dick presently holds an active DOD Secret Clearance, is a Senior Member of AIAA, and a member of ASEE and AAAS.In 2007 he co-founded Illinois Rocstar LLC, which today is a commercially successful business in Champaign, Illinois that provides predictive modeling and simulation software and services for industry, science, defense, and security. The company serves clients in all branches of the US defense, space, and energy complexes, providing software as a service to US prime contractors and academic users. Beginning in 1987, Mr. Dick spent 31 years in the College of Engineering at the University of Illinois in a number of research executive roles, including Assistant Dean for Research, followed by two years at Purdue University in a similar role. Mr. Dick was responsible for developing, establishing, and stewarding large, multidepartmental and intercollegiate research institutes and centers. He spent 31 years in the College of Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. There he was responsible for developing, establishing, and stewarding multi-departmental and intercollegiate research institutes and centers. Beginning in 2015, this broadened to include Asian educational and research institutes in the engineering sciences. Between 2018 and 2020, he was the Deputy Director of the Composites Manufacturing and Simulations Center in the Indiana Manufacturing Institute at Purdue University.
