Manage all maintenance related activities for a 450,000 second ft. automated distribution facility.Directly supervise 28 technicians, 3 Assistant Managers & 2 Administrative assistants including: scheduling, annual reviews, development, merit increases and promotions.Work directly with Senior Facility Manager & operation staff performing root cause analysis to reduce re-handled product. Consistently been a top performing facility in this metric, less than 10%, while exceeding productivity goals.Modified a bi-lateral sorter that, after installation, would not perform more than a few hours without catastrophic failure, to a unit that reliably runs 6000 parcels per hour.Set up and manage contracts for facility HVAC, fire suppression, janitorial, landscaping, waste removal and recycling.Maintain background checks on approved vendors and manage access badges within the FedEx ID system. Also maintain a current list of approved, non-badged vendors with the on-site security team.Manage the installation and upgrades of systems and equipment to increase reliability and reduce long term operating costs. Purchase necessary materials for maintenance and spare parts inventory while staying within the monthly budgeted goals. Direct maintenance of inventory locations and levels, thru the assistant manager, within the CMMS system. Review all invoices for projects & inventory replenishment on a weekly basis.Perform all tasks listed in previous position without the allotted Maintenance Service Manager or administrative assistant.

Administer preventative maintenance program to include weekly scheduled maintenance and corrective/predictive unscheduled work. Implement the use of an activity log to develop equipment history and account for technician's time.Participate in the set up and maintenance of an inventory system using the above mentioned program.Monitor no-read and no-sort rates. Oversee technician's efforts to improve these percentages and provide feedback on the goals and trends from week to week and month to month. Bring to the attention of operational staff issues under their control that effect these numbers.Maintain allotted technician staffing for the year by sourcing and selecting qualified candidates. Recognize current technicians for their efforts and encourage cross-training between experienced technicians and new hires.Identify and direct implementation of improvements to the sortation system. Some examples include basic PLC program modifications. Examples include a restart delay on unload banks and giving central control the ability to override SHB crossover stops. Worked with controls engineer to develop program converting unload door 53 from a standard unload door to an in-line SWAK door. Purchase and use of an EPROM burner to save edits on older sort controllers (PSC's).

Mastered the repair of Accu-Sort Laser Scanners. This reduced the facilities no-read rates in addition to reducing expenditures on vendor repairs.Mastered the SWAK IV system to include adding controllers to the network & troubleshooting existing units.Respond to sort calls and provide feedback to operational staff on time of repair and possible contingency plans.Perform system walk-through and identify possible breakdowns or trouble areas. Follow up on these issues during system downtime, or provide feedback to the FMM.Mentor new and/or lower level technician's to prepare them for them for progression.

Performed diagnostics and repair of all automotive systems. In absence of service manager also estimated & sold work to customers, coordinated ordering and delivery of necessary parts and supplies to complete approved work. Attended College full-time in addition to obtaining my ASE Master Automobile Technician certification during this time.
