Walsh was promoted to the chief operating officer of Terra in January 2011 where he was responsible for the successful execution of company operations. In December 2012, Terra was purchased by GLDD. Additionally, Walsh had been specifically responsible for oversight of the Kalamazoo River oil spill cleanup operation, which has been a multi-year, hundred million dollar plus project to remove oil contamination from a wide swath of the Kalamazoo River. In July of 2015 Walsh was promoted to be the chief operating officer of GLDD's environmental platform where he was responsible for the initial integration of the operating units within the platform specifically for standardization of systems and project controls. In March of 2016, Walsh was named the president of one of the operating divisions, Terra Contracting Services, where he was responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of company operations in order to ensure maximization of company profits.
