Served as Director of the information technology operations for the company. Created and managed the IT budget with the assistance of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for all IT expenditures. Upgraded network communications to a more efficient level for a six state region by securing the network and minimizing network downtime. Worked with outside consultants to devise a complete Cisco secure network system. Setup a new system using site-to-site VPN tunnels to secure communication from all terminals across the west coast. Devised and implemented the west coast into three areas for active directory servers to reside and increased bandwidth for those areas to connect back to headquarters. This allowed for better flow of data and proved to be efficient, a bonus was reduced costs. Worked with outside vendors to bring in a new billing system to meet the changing business needs and model. This project affected the departments within the company as well as our customers interactions with us on a daily bases and replaced the paper process of submitting shipments with a new online method. I also maintained warehouse equipment such as scales and label printers for multiple locations. Created disaster recovery plans for the IT infrastructure to ensure minimum impact, created end-user policies with help of human resources for company polices, and also created life-cycle timelines for IT equipment to reduce hardware failure rates. Managed all IT projects and initiatives and reported to Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Served as a team member of the Executive Committee by providing technical guidance and advice.

To stop revenue loss I brought integrity to data collection for package tracking and billing. Led a team of contractors and employees to upgrade and maintain current systems. Planned for long-term goals to replace outdated and broken systems. Project managed new software development within the company to include design and development of application and database structures. Worked with every department in the company to assess their daily tasks. Built new processes into software systems to automate and reduce errors in accounting and billing, along with tracking of packages within the system. Using the information gathered, analyzed key areas that would increase productivity and bill more accurately. As a result, billing time was shortened. By implementing quality assurance techniques, the team was able to identify and correct billing errors and increase revenues. Managed a project that replaced old phone and modem communications with a more robust internet infrastructure reducing overall cost to the company and increased productivity for managers. This new network covered a western region of five states including Washington, Oregon, Alaska, Montana, and Idaho. Used leading edge technologies to write an application on PocketPC devices and deployed it to over 500 mobile scanners in the field. I also maintained shipping equipment such as scanners, printers, and scales used by our customers and employees throughout the northwest. I supervised all employees in the department, was responsible for hiring, providing training, and performing employee performance appraisals. I also maintained budgets, outlooks, and forecasts for short-term and long-term goals. Managed the IT team to ensure that all key performance indicators (KPI) assigned to the IT department were completed. I made presentations to company mangers about upcoming IT initiatives and also let them express their concerns directly to me during these meetings so we could address their issues and concerns.
