My main focus was on the Thames Catchment Community Eels Project and finalising the Fish Migration Roadmap project. Furthermore, as part of our Blue Connections project, I also developed and delivered courses and modules on geographic information systems (using QGIS and ArcGIS) and data science (using R) working with the RSPB and their Greener Thames Youth Programme throughout 2022.

I developed and oversaw the Fish Migration Roadmap project, which focused on a whole-system approach to help reprioritise fish migratory barriers and provide a blueprint for sustainable river restoration works within the Greater Thames Estuary and the Thames River Basin.

My work as a volunteer included creating a combined River Thames data set focusing on water quality and aquatic fauna, and helping with fish surveys.

I deliver stand up paddleboarding lessons and run the Thames Natural History Tours focusing on the natural history and ecology of the Thames Estuary.

I was invited to delivered lectures on environmental pollution and marine mammal mitigation methods used during the construction of offshore wind farms as part of the Environmental Sustainability course.

As a consultant, I worked on implementing marine mammal monitoring and mitigation plans according to government and industry regulations for the offshore energy and renewables sector. Tasks included: deployment of acoustic deterrence devices (ADDs) and real-time underwater noise monitoring during the construction of offshore windfarms and subsea stations; visual (MMO) and passive acoustic (PAM) monitoring of marine mammal activity during sesimic surveys.

Following the successful completion of my internship, I was working as a research assistant to study the decline of balthic tellin population at spatial and temporal scale in the western Dutch Wadden Sea.

My internship included processing and analysing benthic macrofauna samples, field sampling and report writing. In addition, I participated in a pelagic sampling campaign in the Oosterschelde, and migratory shorebird catching and ringing in the Wadden Sea.
