"Science-policy interfaces in the Wadden Sea: what works when, where and how?"This research focusses on the interactions and interfaces between science and policy, with a specific focus on the Wadden Sea. Within this fragile environment, the interactions between science and policy can be difficult and contested, due to a variety of interaction problems (e.g. the strategic use, and production of knowledge, or the operational misfit between demand for, and supply of knowledge). This research will empirically focus on three SPIs (boundary organisations, boundary workers, and boundary objects), in terms of their goals, strategies, and to what extent their interventions have an impact on the level of credibility, legitimacy and/or salience of the produced and used knowledge in decision-making processes.Products: peer-reviewed articles, popular science article, action strategy report, lectures, presentations, workshops.
