My primary role involved providing tailored individual support, advice, and information, with a focus on navigating benefit systems and financial matters. I worked closely with families in the London Borough of Ealing, particularly those from predominantly Black, Asian, and minority ethnic (BAME) backgrounds, as well as East European families, who have a child with a disability or special needs (aged 0-25).

I managed the specialist outreach disability support project. Which was aimed to empower people with complex needs who feel they have struggled, or have been unable, to access services and/ or facilities because of their disability. My role was to manage and oversee many different people who may need information and/ or support to resolve an issue. Perhaps they are dealing with complex situations, requiring the coordination of their disability

In my role, I conduct direct outreach work with young people in care. I lead the induction, coordination, and support of outreach staff, ensuring they receive thorough training in safeguarding practices and adhere to organizational policies. Additionally, I organize and co-facilitate young men's and women's groups, gather ideas for future workshops, and assist the placement manager with placements and outreach services. When needed, I support duty managers and directors in supervising team members, managing administrative tasks, and liaising with social services and other professionals.

As an advocate, I work with vulnerable adults to help promote and protect their rights. I work with adults with learning difficulties, and mental and physical disabilities. I also support with people with substance abuse issues, my role is to empower them to make d to ensure that that their views and wishes are recorded. I spend time the clients helping them access information, ensuring they understand everything in order to support them make informed decisions about their lives. As part of general advocacy I can support them and speak on their behalf to help resolve any issues. For example, I support clients prepare and attend appeals for benefits such as PIP or ESA once they have been refused and speak up for them at tribunals. I also work with vulnerable parents who have children in care or on a Child Protection Plan/ Child in Need plan. Taking part in LAC review meetings, conferences, and core group meetings.
