About Warren Sheean
My design journey began immersed in the fundamentals of graphic design—learning about color theory, hierarchy, balance and countless other principles and concepts. While I built a solid foundation in print, the world of digital design, with its interactive elements, truly captured my imagination.Though I’m grateful for my graphic design roots, my passion now lies in the ever-evolving digital space. I'm happiest when I'm collaborating with a team through the discovery phase—gaining a deep understanding of the problems and opportunities, conducting user research, brainstorming innovative ideas and designing intuitive, simple solutions.Over the past decade, I’ve had the opportunity of collaborating with a diverse range of brilliant people, organisations and brands, including Department of Defence, WorkSafe, Honda, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Simonds Homes, MasterCard, The Royal Australian Airforce and Cadbury—to name just a few.I've been mentoring students for the online user interface design course at RMIT for the past four years and have also had the privilege of lecturing at Deakin University (Waurn Ponds Campus) on the subject of UX/UI design.

As a contractor at WorkSafe Victoria, I worked on 3 projects to enhance WorkSafe's licensing operations. Licence Application Platform for Registered Training Officers (RTOs):- Led the design of a new CRM platform to migrate RTOs from a legacy system.- Developed user testing scenarios, customer journey maps, personas, quantitative data research, user flows, wire frames, Hi-Fi designs, Figma prototypes and conducted user testing workshops.- Improved workflows and simplified the Construction Induction application process. Ensured AA accessibility standards were meet.Notice of Training Assessments Platform:- UX/UI improvements for a more intuitive interface and user flows.- Accessibility review.Enhanced Design System for Licensing Teams:- Optimised the Licensing teams' design system using Figma properties and variables.- Reduced reliance on Figma variants, enhancing system efficiency and adaptability.- Achieved a consistent user experience across diverse Licensing applications.
