Special ProjectsKnappe & Koester Aug 2008 - May 2012Keene, NhIn-house consultant and troubleshooter. I would be assigned projects that needed special care, such as an existing process that had developed an issue, a new process that was complicated or needed guidance, or quick little fixes needed by anybody in the organization. With a strong background in machining, CNC programming, quality control, SolidWorks, I.T., customer service, databases, networking, and training, I was used for any issue that needed a quick answer by anyone in any department, or that needed research done and a carefully crafted solution to a major issue.I would be assigned to meet with a customer or vendor if a more hands-on connection was needed because of a developing issue, and if necessary I would nurture the connection until they could be independent again. If the maintenance department needed help with the computer side of our production machines I would assist with troubleshooting and configuration. K&K is a 100 person/ 100+ CNC spindle machine shop that produces parts for military, medical, architectural, printing and other industries. They have the newest leading-edge equipment and use progressive processes.I was recently downsized because of a temporary slowdown in orders but will continue working with them as an independent contractor as their needs dictate. -

Manager, Special ProjectsGraphicast, Inc. Jun 2004 - May 2007Jaffrey, NhI started with the planning, implementation of a CNC CMM system to enhance quality control for a manufacturer of high precision machined castings, including creating quality procedures that were functional and cost effective. I trained several existing employees on the use, theories and pitfalls of CMM inspection so that they would be self sufficient. When the CMM system was in production I became the troubleshooter for some nagging production problems in the tooling, casting, and machining areas and I handled all of the maintenance issues that were related to potential downtime. I worked closely with production employees, managers, and customers to deliver products that they were happy with. If there were issues with a customer's parts I would find the source of the problem and solve it by changing the process, the documentation, or the design of the part. [ I had finished the bulk of the improvements that I had been hired for and things were winding down, so I decided to take advantage of a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience a sabbatical. ] -

[ My largest customer, Graphicast, was increasing my work load to the point that I finally had to just start working for them full time.]

Design EngineerConcept Tool & Design Nov 2000 - May 2002Goffstown, NhDesign plastic injection molds using ProEngineer. The mold assemblies were precision, high quality (Class 101), high production molds. The parts had to be designed to have a long life, be easily maintained and repaired, be profitably manufactured at a single quantity, with no rework. I also worked with customers concerning part design suggestions and potential quality issues. Responsible for all of the computer/network support and occasional machine repair.I would recommend this company to anyone needing plastic injection molds. Integrity and quality.

Cnc SpecialistGraphicast, Inc. Dec 1991 - Nov 2000Jaffrey, NhResponsible for process design and implementation, and CNC production programming. Graphicast is a casting/machining production shop with repeat jobs being set up monthly. Each process had to be robust, quick, and easily understood by the folks in production. This was accomplished with solid-modeling part design with ProE and SolidWorks, mold programming using a variety of CAM systems (ProE, Gibbs, FeatureCam, Acucarv), fixture design/drafting using ProE and Microstation. As a supervisor of Q.C. I dealt directly with customers concerning design changes and quality. I was also responsible for all in-house computer support and occasional machine setup and repair. -
