Warren Young is currently Chairman and majority owner of Acme Industries (www.acmeind.com), a Chicago based $50 million contract manufacturer of precision machined components for OEM’s. Warren acquired Acme Industries in 1998, which at the time was an $18M family owned business. Positive developments for the company included a differentiated business model and brand, as well as the implementation of manufacturing best practices. Engineering services were also developed as an added offering for the company resulting, in one case, with an IP trademark and patented product enhancement for one of its customers.In 2015, Warren acquired an interest in Automation Nth, a Nashville based automation controls and systems integration engineering firm. During the 8 years since Warren became Chairman the company has grown its revenue by more than 10x.In 2013, Warren was honored as an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year finalist and he was inducted into the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) Entrepreneurial Hall of Fame in 2012. He has also been active in the board management of TMA, his Chicago area trade association, as well the Elk Grove Village Chamber of Commerce.Warren earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University and a Masters of Business Administration from Xavier University.
