I was the operations manager at Brandweld. I managed the daily operations of the business, including internal sales, accounts, procurement, and inventory.I managed the import of stock from foreign suppliers, placing the orders, allocating shipping agents, and working out the landed costs of over 3000 line items. Constant communication with all stakeholders, updating them on the progress of the shipment and the estimated time of arrival so orders can be placed accordingly and back orders completed.Some of my tasks and achievements were:- Guided the staff in all departments to work as a team and achieve the daily targets of the business. - Secured a new partnership with a shipping agent, providing short term finance on shipments, improving the business cash flow projections.- Analysed the landed cost of overseas shipments based on the ROE and shipping costs; adjusted selling prices according to the required margins of the business.- Introduced monthly stock takes to be conducted and account for any discrepancies, if any.
