Was involved as Senior Technical Consultant for Solid and Liquid Waste Management for the various Gram Panchayaths across five operational districts of Uttar Pradesh under the project funding from UNICEF. Involved in providing guidance to the World Vision Team on Preparation of Detailed Project Reports, Feasibility, on Field Guidance, Capacity building and conduct of District level Workshops for various stakeholders.

Feasibility Landscape studies, Concept development, Site selection, Stakeholder management Preparation of ground for Testing/Commissioning of the various prototypes toilets as part of the Reinvent the Toilet Technologies Challenge under the Sanitation Technology Platform (STeP) programme funded by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The prototypes of technologies from University of Toronto, Caltech, Duke -RTI are currently being tested at the commissioned toilets at Coimbatore, Tamilnadu, India.Also involved with market landscape studies in Philippines and India for the promotion of OMNI Processor project funded by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Overall in charge of Coordination and implementation of Urban and Rural Programmes on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Solid and Liquid Waste management with partner NGOS and Network Partner NGOs in the States of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. Have set up decentralised facilities for Water and Sanitation in communities and schools. Demonstrated community based decentralised waste management systems in town panchayaths including management of marine and ocean litter. Some of the projects handled include Healthy Slums Healthy cities at Trichy, WASH and SLWM facilities at Coastal Villages and towns of Kanyakumari District, Decentralised SWM at Sargur, Karnataka, Clean Cities Programme in Tamilnadu and WASH-TN Network at Tamilnadu.

Headed a 12 member team for the implementation of a BORDA, Germany funded Community Based Sanitation and Slum Development (CBS-SD) programme in Bangalore and KGF in Karnataka. Instrumental in commissioning community run Decentralised Wastewater Treatment systems and Solid waste Management system in Bangalore and Kolar Gold Fields.

Led a team of 15 staff in planning, designing, implementation of multiple environment related projects in different cities/towns across India. Major projects involved in setting up Community based Decentralised Solid Waste Management system in Bangalore and other areas of the India.Significant achievement in Project Implementation:1. Community based Solid Waste Management project titled “Integrated Urban Environment Improvement Project” at Bangalore funded by The Royal Norwegian Embassy through Bangalore Development Authority in four BDA layouts in Bangalore. This project has been recognised as one of most sustainable Community based Decentralised Solid Waste management project till date in any urban area in India (16 years of operation since handing over to Waste Management Committee). 2.Community based project “Environment Improvement Project in HSR layout” in Bangalore funded by BDA 3.Community based Solid Waste Management project titled “Urban Waste Expertise Programme in One ward in Bangalore city funded by WASTE, The Netherlands. 4.“Satyanagar- A pilot plant study project” at Bangalore funded by RNE. 5.Project titled “Awareness Programme on the Ban on recycled plastics less than 20 microns” funded by the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB).6.Project Titled “CEE’s Environmental Education Strategy” (CEEDS) funded by RNE in different towns in Kodagu District.7.Also involved in the planning and setting up process for setting up a Common Treatment Facility for Hospital Waste Management at Gulbarga funded by the Royal Norwegian Embassy.
