During my entire tenure at SNL Energy (and previously Io Energy), I served as editor of Generation Markets Week. This was a cradle-to-grave weekly publication on electric power generation. I was also a regular daily contributor to Power Daily. SNL was purchased by McGraw-Hill and is now part of S&P Global.

I served as editor of Coal Outlook and Coal Outlook Daily Advisor at both FT Energy and subsequently at McGraw-Hill Platts. After the merger with McGraw-Hill Platts I worked to blend Coal Week and Coal Outlook staffs and the Platts daily product, Platts Coal Trader.

During this period at McGraw-Hill I served as a reporter on Nucleonics Week, Inside NRC, Nuclear Fuel and Nuclear News Flashes.

During my tenure at Pasha I was first an associate editor of Coal Outlook, the leading weekly publication on coal mining and the coal reports. In January 1994, I was promoted to editor of Mine Regulation Reporter. MRR was the leading publication (put out every two weeks) on mine safety and health.

I was senior reporter in the Wise County, Virginia bureau of the Bristol Herald-Courier. The BHC is a daily newspaper that at the time had a circulation of probably 45,000. The highlight was my coverage of the United Mine Workers of America (UMWA) labor strike against the Pittston coal company.
