About Wayne Bentley

The experience I have gained from managing company and owner drivers; from managing teams involved in operations, call centres, customer service, and business development; and from account management roles that involved liaising with key stakeholders and presenting reports in the board rooms of Bluechip Australian companies has given me a really good understanding of the transport industry from all different angles. I enjoy working with people, developing a team mentality, using basic logic and procedures or finding outside the square solutions to resolve the most difficult issues. I have a history of being promoted after achieving outstanding results and from implementing cost saving continuous improvement ideas in whatever roles that I have taken on. I was also involved in the performance management of drivers and staff, reported on various kpi's and p&l sheets, and supervised charging and payroll. I worked on tenders and quoting for new business, and visited clients as a direct point of contact. I spent several months at new customer sites implementing new services and training new supervisors.I also later managed the Dandenong ad-hoc depot, servicing clients mainly based in the steel and construction industry with company rigids, crane trucks and semis. I supervised the despatching of work to a fleet of subcontractor couriers servicing urgent medical requirements 24/7.

I established an excellent relationship with the client, achieving a difot of 99.8% or better in every quarter that I managed. I drove a huge focus on load restraint compliance and OH&S to ensure that all employees went home safely at the end of each day. I was responsible for helping prepare and present weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports to key Bluescope personell, supervised charging and payroll as well as the upkeep and maintenance of vehicles and equipment on site. I also managed and implemented transport services at several regional sites including Morwell, Ballarat, Geelong and Warrnambool.
