• Command all operational and administrative activities of the LAC.• Design and implement processes and strategies to combat and drive down crime within the LAC.• Manage the achievement of community and policing objectives.• Provide leadership and innovation.• Lead the Local Area Management Team, develop business plans and set strategic direction.• Deploy local police resources and optimise their effectiveness in identified problem areas.• Manage and deploy scarce resources attached to the LAC on behalf of, and throughout the Region.• Utilise NSW Police data and support groups to their optimum level in support of all LAC activities.• Ensure effective supervision throughout the LAC.• Ensure effective administrative management of the LAC.• Manage and be accountable for all financial aspects of the LAC.• Market and encourage policing services to the local community and play an active role in local community decision-making.• Manage the implementation of corporate initiatives and priorities within the LAC.• Act in various capacities including requirements under Emergency Management or other legislation.• Represent the LAC, Region and NSW Police on appropriate projects and forums.• Promote the health, safety, well-being and development of personnel within the LAC.• Manage staff discipline.• Ensure all operations/activities comply with policies, procedures and legislative requirements.Key Technical/Professional Criteria:• High-level communication/people skills.• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of corporate and local issues.• Sound command and management ability.• Sound business and strategic planning ability.• Sound knowledge of administrative/financial systems and processes.
