Managing the installation and Commissioning teams for the OAL Connected installations

As Technical Consultant, working for the End of line Solutions Team, I am responsible for Factory Risk Assessments regarding Auto-coding / label verification issues and suggesting the correct solution. I am also involved in training, support and any other Consultancy work factories may require.

Futura Foods are an import company for continental cheeses, specialising in Greek and Cypriut cheeses such as Feta and Haloumi but cover all continental cheese types.As Technical Manager I am responsible for the integration between retailers & customers and the supplying sites. Ensuring sites understand codes of practice and that specifications are completed on time and to the correct standard.

Retail Technical Manager responsible for 80+ suppliers and over 900 SKU's. Ranging from, cheese, cooked meat, butters & yellow fats, fresh pasta, sandwich fillers & everything on the deli counter.I was also responsible for product development of the cheese category and represented Somerfield as a judge at many of the cheese shows.

Working for the pasta business at Barton upon Humber and Scunthorpe, I was responsible for the management of process technologists, direct liaison with customers and integration of new products into the factory within limited time scales. Covering three sites of manufacture and all major retailers, I was also the technical liaison for M & S delivering a new product range into the factory requiring technical approval for the factory.

Member of a small projects team created to improve current manufacturing processes and install new lines into the factory. The role was broad and included contract negotiation with contractors, design and installation of new equipment, formulation and completion of machinery specifications, including all technical aspects, carrying out process trials on the equipment to calculate line throughputs, efficiencies and quality of products produced on them in relation to the specification submitted to the contractors. This role has strengthened my communication and negotiation skills, as I had to submit my ideas to all levels of management.

As a member of a 3-strong team, reporting to the Process Development Manager, responsibilities included the continuing development of current processes, equipment and products, and taking new product concepts from development to launch both in the UK and abroad.

Responsible for a team of five QA's and reporting directly to the site Technical Manager. I was responsible for changing the site quality management system from quality control to quality assurance, reducing the amount of quality constrained stock produced.

Reporting directly to the Operations Director, responsible for all technical activities including factory build and establishment of a microbiology laboratory. This was a brand new company, producing chilled Rice in doy packs.As a start up company, varied tasks had to be covered by a small team. This was a steap learning curve following the completion of my HND Food Science.
