Wayne has over 37 years’ experience working in Aboriginal Affairs with State, and Federal Governments including six years working at the Midwest Regional Development Commission, also having established and managed the Wila Gutharra (Two Rivers) Aboriginal Corporation a large urban based Community Development Employment Organization in Geraldton WA before the Government closed down the CDEP Program. Working for the Department of Aboriginal Affairs in WA he has a thorough knowledge of regional communities and the people living in the regions, with a proven record of delivering economic development outcomes and activities.After retiring from Government work, In March 2020, Wayne McDonald was appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Bundiyarra ("The Good Place") Aboriginal Community Aboriginal Corporation (BACAC) based in Geraldton WA. The Corporation currently manages the Irra Wanga Language Centre that manages 12 language projects in the Midwest, Gascoyne, Muchison and lower Pilbara regions. Including an Aboriginal Environmental Health Program. a Connected Beginnings Team, an Indigenous Youth Connection to Culture, Country and Elders program and shortly an Early Childhood Education Centre, in early 2024.
