I have 25+ years of experience creating visualization for transportation projects around the world. I started in 1998 with the Louis Berger Group based in Morristown NJ. My first large project was to visualize the World Trade Center Temporary PATH station after the 9/11 attacks, If you aren't familiar, that's the subway line that connects the Manhattan Peninsula to New Jersey through a tunnel under the Hudson River. The major stakeholders were high-level politicians so my job was to create visualization materials that could give these non-technical people the ability to comment intelligently on the design concepts. This is the heart of what I do. I left Louis Berger in 2017 to help build a startup called Civil FX, the concept was to create visualization for transportation projects using game engines like Unity and Unreal Engine. I opened an office in Las Vegas, hired a staff of developers and artists, and began working on the largest NDOT projects like NEON, Centennial Bowl, and Tropicana I-15 then spread out to work on other projects around the country until 2020 when the company was acquired by Parametrix. Now I lead a team of Visualization Specialists that create digital twin models of transportation projects while developing custom platforms for public outreach, stakeholder engagement, and project management using UE5, VR/AR, and other emerging technologies.Civil FX offers 3D visualization for transportation, construction, and other civil projects.
