DURA AUTOMOTIVE Birmingham 1992 – 2000Manufacturing Engineer / Project Manager A first tier supplier to the leading European Automotive industry, manufacturing doorframe systems, pressings, glass assemblies, body finishing trim and body in white structural sections.The role was to improve the efficiency of the existing manufacturing equipment, introduce TPM and develop teamwork within the Maintenance Department. With overall operational and budgetary responsibility for the maintenance and manufacturing departments this was a key managerial role within the organisation. During this time, I was heavily involved in the following: • Development and implementation of new automotive production lines working closely with production management to ensure efficient productionisation.• Driving CI practices, introducing and developing processes and procedures with the team to ensure continuous improvement.
