Wayne Workman is a construction executive with over 38 years of varied experience in the construction services and construction materials industries. Wayne started his career before high school working with his father, Bill, on various civil site work projects and became a proficient heavy equipment operator at an early age. While in college at the University of Tennessee he co-oped with the Federal Highway Administration overseeing construction of the Natchez Trace Parkway in northern Alabama and Mississippi. Upon graduation from UT with a BS in Civil Engineering he worked for Harbert International on the construction of the Riverchase Galleria in Birmingham. He then attended the University of Texas at Austin where he was a research fellow for the Architectural and Civil Engineering department working on research for the world renowned Construction Industry Institute. He coauthored CII document SD-8, Incentives in Construction Contracts, with David Ashley, Phd. Wayne obtained his MS in Architectural Engineering, project management. Wayne was the Operations Manager for Chasco Constructors in Austin, Texas managing various civil and commercial construction projects from 1986 to 1989.Wayne started Workman Concrete Products, Inc. in Tennessee in 1989. The focus of the company was precast concrete products for the transportation, storm drainage, and wastewater sectors of the highway construction and site civil development sectors. During this time he was also the cofounder and officer of Workman Materials, Inc., a crushed limestone products company.
