About Wayne Walker

As a cross-functional leader, I specialize in optimizing strategic planning and stakeholder engagement in the healthcare sector, driving complex large-scale initiatives. From strengthening program governance and orchestrating multi-year capital projects to enhancing operations and services as a strategic partner to internal and external stakeholders at all levels.I’m the Executive Director, Capital Planning, Mental Health & Addictions Master Planning at the Government of Prince Edward Island. I quickly branched out, extending the range of my expertise to include spearheading a $400M, 21-story infrastructure project for the Peter Gilgan Centre for Research & Learning. The facility is the largest research health center in the world devoted to children's health research, comprised of 17 floors of lab space grouped into 6 specialized neighborhoods each spanning 2 - 3 floors.In 2016, I became the Director of Capital & Facilities Planning for Grand River Hospital, one of Ontario's largest community hospitals. I delivered an annual equipment capital plan in the scope of $40M, established the hospital’s first PMO and drove a $2M Master Plan/Program for 1.6M sq. ft. I was involved in the annual strategic capital planning as the liaison with the LHIN and MOHLTC.I joined the Confederation Centre of the Arts as its COO in 2018, managing strategic operational planning and center operations.
