𝗡𝗘𝗪 𝗧𝗘𝗖𝗛𝗡𝗢𝗟𝗢𝗚𝗜𝗘𝗦 have drawn me in since childhood. Probably because Dad was a military aerospace technician, and gyros, buttons and blinky lights fascinated me from an early age. This led to a first career developing complex software for General Motors and Ford in my native Michigan. But Mom was a hairdresser - so the way things look was also important, which probably explains my second career. In the early 90s, I became an ad agency creative and one of the first digital marketers, leading brands like P&G, Kraft, Ford, and Johnson & Johnson in their first steps onto the Internet. I've since launched products, crafted business strategies, advised the Fortune 500 on digital disruption, and created marketing campaigns for nearly 100 global brands. My work has been reviewed by some legendary CEOs. I've also worked with some of the world's best ad agencies, including DDB, Y&R, FCB, Possible, and MediaBrands.I've persuaded executive teams around the world to embrace everything from e-commerce to webcasting, AI, blockchain, and augmented reality. My team and I built one of the very first AI-powered websites in 1997 (yes, 27 years ago), and launched a successful predictive AI tool in 2014. 𝗠𝗬 𝗖𝗨𝗥𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗣𝗥𝗜𝗢𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗬 is a logistics insights venture called Transparent Path. Our mission is to reduce cost, risk and planetary impact in our most critical supply chains — using prescriptive AI, IoT and blockchain. I also am building a digital avatar/thanabot service called Perpetuate.I've managed creative, strategy and production teams in London, New York, Los Angeles, Washington DC, Seattle, Vancouver, Detroit and Cincinnati. My last role was launching the Xerox Customer Experience Practice, where I oversaw a book of marketing services business worth $550M.I give back through anti-hunger programs, lecture at universities in the US, Canada, Ireland and elsewhere, and speak globally on topics like sustainability, transparency and ethics.𝗦𝗢𝗠𝗘 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝟭𝟬𝟬 𝗕𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗦 𝗜'𝗩𝗘 𝗔𝗗𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗘𝗗Abbott LaboratoriesAlaska AirlinesAmazonBC Hydro (CA)BMWCloroxeBayFedExFordGEJack in the BoxJohnson & JohnsonKraftHeinzMayo ClinicMerckMicrosoftMOWI (CA)Nature's Path (CA)P&GStarbucksTesco (UK)US Department of Commerce𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗜𝗖𝗟𝗘𝗦 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦 𝗜𝗡:AdAgeBrand Republic (UK)BusinessWeekForbes (MX)FortuneHuffington PostInc. Chief Executive OfficerTransparent Path Spc Apr 2020 - PresentSeattle, Washington, UsLOGISTICS INSIGHTS THROUGH A.I.Transparent Path is a US social purpose corporation on a mission: to reduce cost, risk, and planetary impact in our most critical supply chains. We've integrated ground-breaking IoT devices with unique predictive and prescriptive intelligence to create end-to-end, eye-in-the-sky visibility and insights — empowering our customers to prevent losses and waste before they occur.Launched at the start of the pandemic by former senior leaders from Xerox, Expedia, Microsoft, Target, and UC Berkeley, we are now tracking shipments in the US, Europe, South America, and Australia.Supply chains face constant disruption due to war, climate impacts, labor unrest, and paper-based information. The world is spending a fortune in labor, electricity, oil, fresh water, and carbon as we produce food, pharmaceuticals, biomedical and chemical products — why let all of that effort and expense become lost in transit? -

Chief Executive OfficerTransparent Path Llc Jul 2018 - May 2020Before we incorporated as a Social Purpose Corporation, our little LLC was one of the first "blockchain for food traceability" startups. We got set up at WeWork Labs, kicked off a speaking tour to build awareness of the venture, and launched a technical proof of concept, tracking apples across the US using a combination of always-on cellular sensors and Bluetooth temperature monitors. Data from the sensors was captured in a blockchain. It wasn't terribly scalable or interoperable, but hey, the technology worked and proved it could be done. When my current management team joined me in early 2020, we shut down the LLC, and set up a proper c-corp, Transparent Path SPC. I'm proud of those "awkward teenage" LLC years, but even more proud of the new venture we've built. It's got a stellar value prop for both investors and customers.

Chief Executive Officer, AmericasKabel New Media Ag Mar 2000 - Dec 2001While at Young & Rubicam, a buddy approached me with an offer by Europe’s largest digital marketing agency. The ask: take $5M and design and build a US subsidiary. From my network of friends and colleagues, I put together a team of talented subject matter experts in sales, delivery, strategy, technology and finance, while I focused on offer and marketing. We immediately opened offices in NYC, DC and LA and within six short weeks, we landed $4M in ARR from BMW, Showtime Networks, Swiss Re Insurance, and others. When the Neuermarkt crashed, German finance law required the company to dissolve - including our subsidiary. That’s when my real business education began. It was an incredibly painful experience that, while humbling, showed me what I needed to improve. -

Director Of Internet ProductsPossible Mar 1994 - Dec 1997Seattle, Washington, Us"Why do we need to be on the Internet?" asked our CFO. "We have perfectly good voicemail and fax systems." I convinced management to let me stand up a digital marketing practice, and we built the very first websites and intranets for Fortune 500 brands like P&G, Kraft Foods, Johnson & Johnson, RCA, and General Electric. For Kenwood USA, we partnered with students at the University of Chicago to build one of the very first AI-powered websites in history. The earliest days of the Internet were exploratory and so much fun. We had no idea that we were at the very edge of a wave that would transform the entire planet. -
