Developed and taught "Product Innovation and Development Management" at Tecnologico de Costa Rica (Costa Rica Institute of Technology) in 2015. Taught "Managing Technological Innovation" at the University of Minnesota in 2013. Guest speaker in executive education program for Georgetown University, an MBA class at USC, and Leaders in Global Operations at MIT.

Responsibility for developing and teaching new graduate level courses in technology innovation management and leadership, as an integral part of several Master of Science programs and a graduate minor within the College of Science and Engineering. R&D responsibility for the Transportation, Graphics and Safety Markets. Accelerate commercialization through making linkages between customer needs and 3M technologies. Various assignments leading R&D for optical recording, computer diskettes, telecommunications products, and safety and security products. Led laboratory responsible for development and scale-up of Multilayer Optical Film for LCD displays and other applications - one of 3M's largest platforms. Led commercialization of Rewritable Optical Disks, based on magneto-optic technology. Led joint development programs with Samsung, Sony, IBM, HP, Philips, Matsushita, Xerox.

Commercialization of the 3490E cartridge tape, developed jointly with IBM. Other major development programs established with industry leaders. Programs for quality improvement and cost reduction in the 3M computer tape portfolio.

Development and introduction of the first 3M Rewritable Optical Disk product, leading an interdisciplinary team from lab samples through commercial product. Represented 3M in ANSI and ISO.

Magneto-optical technology development, including first public demonstration of a Rewritable Optical Disk at COMDEX 1985. Developed systems for electronic document management, optical disk testing and mastering.

Developed electronic hardware and software for fiber optic transmission systems. Design, analysis, and debug of algorithms and equipment for terminal equipment monitoring and protection switching, with real-time performance objectives.
