This system transcodes incoming audio streams with different encoding formats into AAC/aacPlusv1 streams, creates LATM payload header and RTP header, and feeds the RTP streams to Darwin Streaming Servers (DSS). Used C++, Java, and Tomcat. -- Developed a fault-tolerant Windows Media Audio (WMA) Ingestion and Transcoding system. This system ingests and transcodes incoming WMA streams from Akamai, and feeds them to Windows Media Streaming Servers. This is the back-end system for Cingular's XM Radio used by hundreds of thousands' clients. Used C++ and C#. -- Developed customized modules for Darwin Streaming Server. Used C++ and Python. -
Graduate Student ResearcherUniversity Of California At Berkeley Aug 2001 - Sep 2006Berkeley, Ca, UsProposed a framework for distributing multiple descriptions coding (MDC) video over different paths/trees in wireless ad hoc networks to enhance the robustness of both unicast and multicast video streaming. Designed a model to estimate the performance of MDC video streaming over selected paths, and developed an interference-aware multipath routing protocol based on the model. Proved the feasibility of building multiple node disjoint trees in wireless ad hoc networks, and developed three multicast routing protocols, which build multiple node disjoint/nearly disjoint trees. Characterized and evaluated the proposed schemes through NS-2 simulations and real experiments. -
