Model development [模型研发]:- Sulfur conversions in wastewater treatment processes: biological sulfate reduction and sulfide oxidation processes. [污水处理过程中含硫物质的生物转化过程，包括硫酸根的生化还原过程与硫化物的生化氧化过程]- Nitrous oxide model in wastewater treatment processes including generation mechanisms: ammonia oxidization by-products, autotrophic denitrification, heterotrophic denitrification and degradation mechanisms: denitrification. • Collaborated with GE Power & Water and professor Hyung-Sool Lee, principal member in project of municipal and industry wastewater treatment by anaerobic membrane bioreactor (AnMBR ) and nutrient recovery processes• Collaborated with Environment Canada and EnviroSim Associate Ltd and professor Wayne J. Parker, principal member in project of integrated fixed film in activated sludge systems (IFAS) process modeling and optimization • Managed environmental biotechnology lab with 4 – 6 researchers, made and controlled project budget; wrote proposals, project reports, and technical papers

• Modeled fate of volatile sulfur compounds in anaerobic digestion by using AQUASIM, assessed effects of temperature and sludge type on sulfur release in digestion emissions• Managed lab and supervised student research assistants
