As a shift lead, I am responsible for maintaining the entire Egress section, complying with all maintenance requirements, partnering with 7 different organization on a daily basis, scheduling and managing the completion of multiple tasks throughout the day that are required amongst the 4 F-15E fighter Squadrons, along with training, coaching, and leading 4 to 8 Airmen in order to complete the daily mission, making sure 94 Strike Eagles have full Egress functionality ensuring the only failsafe life sustaining device on the Aircraft is in working order. As an Egress troop, we have to ensure we are completing every task with 100% accuracy and must ensure that it is done to the specific instruction in which it was designed. There is no testing of the system as it is a one time around system, which means striving for perfection is a normal occurrence when you are working with explosives that can and when the time comes, will save a Pilots life. The group of individuals I was able to work with throughout my time at Macys, as a sales associate, to specialist, then supervisor, and finishing up as a sales executive all made me feel at home. As a sales executive, having the privilege to be able to learn about so many different people, their cultures, and what drives them everyday was truly amazing, and I am grateful for being able to have connected with so many people. Being able to train, motivate, and Coach such a diverse team was definitely a challenge, but a challenge that bolstered not only personal growth, but also team development. There were always goals to meet, but with such as amazing team behind you, you almost forget about those goals in the moment, and end up shattering them before you know it. For anyone who happens to read this and is thinking about what makes a successful Sales executive, well to you/them I say, Someone who actually cares about their people, and works towards the betterment of their entire team, gets in the mud with them, and backs them up when times get tough. Sales goals are important, Salespeople are the Lifeline to achieving any goal. Take care of your people first, and a sales goal simply becomes a bar you are able to raise at will. Show less
