My goal is to lead systemic education improvement so that youth have a chance to self-actualize and give back to society. I moved from industry to public education so that I could help children worldwide gain a positive self-esteem and control over their lives. I believe broad career pathway models aligned to labor market needs will increase economic competitiveness and spark creativity to solve multidisciplinary global challenges. I have extensive experience and masters degrees in both the education field and previously in industry. My corporate responsibilities in finance involved working in cross-functional operations teams including a startup in Brazil, where I also began acquiring education-related assignments. When I returned to Ohio, I brought my real-world experience to the classroom to teach international business management. I designed the curriculum including a strong business advisory board to help with the units on career/college exploration, leadership development, and job shadowing.Soon after starting my own family, I began managing multiple sponsored projects for an Ohio State University center focusing on workforce development. I led the Ohio Department of Education's career field content standards development, recruited business leaders to volunteer their expertise, and shared best practices at international conferences. I also facilitated job analysis and assessment development workshops for many occupations. For a USAID-sponsored project, I coordinated international student degree training and research plans to increase food security. My knowledge and skills in strategic planning, proposal development, needs assessment, budgeting and reporting enable me to effectively manage people and programs. Perhaps my greatest ability is building relationships and pulling people together from different backgrounds to accomplish results. I am passionate about high standards in education to better the lives of others.

Implemented all aspects of graduate degree training for Innovative Research Initiative (iAGRI), a $29M Feed the Future project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) for 135 Tanzanian graduate students to learn skills for achieving food security. Cultivated relationships and promoted interaction among students, faculty advisors and university officials of partner universities in the U.S., Africa, and India. Directed international programs for OSU CETE, a center which translates research into solutions for workforce development. Through global networks, increased supportive linkages to public and private client-collaborators. Presented employment and career pathways for youth at conferences in the Philippines, South Korea, Malawi, Russia, Trinidad, Costa Rica (keynote), Germany, and the United States.Managed content standards project with the Ohio Department of Education and Ohio Board of Regents to perform labor market analysis, write skills statements with subject matter experts, and coordinate industry panels for validation. Included transferable skills for 16 career fields. Recruited for and facilitated occupational analysis and assessment development workshops. Coordinated resource development activities including proposal writing and budget preparation. Managed federal reporting for teacher quality partnership grant.

While finishing MA at OSU, became certified DACUM facilitator to perform occupational analysis. Participated in ACTE career-technical leadership academy. Consulted CETE on international initiatives. Instructed Summer Technology and substituted at Gahanna-Jefferson and Columbus City Schools.

Built innovative international business management college dual-enrollment program for Eastland-Fairfield, which serves 16 school districts in three counties, and which strives to offer high-tech, in-demand programs. Organized strong business advisory board and activities for students, collaborated with teachers including English and foreign language. Advised student organization with contestants at state and national level annually. Selected for 2005 Japan Fulbright Memorial Fund Teacher Program to increase cultural understanding between people of Japan and the United States.
