What goes on at Grand Forest in Summerville, South Carolina? We are the US distributor of two quality, Swedish-made products: Gränsfors Bruk, hand-forged axes, and Woolpower, merino wool thermal wear. Both are found in sporting good, outdoor and hardware stores, clothiers, niche concept stores, and even companies in the tactical and industrial sectors. We are also a manufacturer of premium, UL classified chain saw protective apparel, here at our cut-and-sew facility. This line is distributed and sold by an array of safety related companies. With a recent move to a larger local warehouse, we have expanded our manufacturing capabilities, beyond safety wear, to encompass other custom-sewn products. Among other things, my job involves establishing new dealer/retail accounts, and maintaining a healthy working relationship with existing retailers. With a diverse assortment of companies selling our products throughout the US, I have the pleasure of meeting many smart, fun and interesting people. In turn we become acquainted with the culture behind their respective companies; something that helps us serve them better. Regardless of the product, or the venue in which it is presented, my goal is to find and nurture good representation. At trade shows or when visiting retailers, my primary focus is product representation. This is nothing short of fun since all of our products are marked by an excellent reputation and in turn attract people who run great companies. Gränsfors Bruk axes are artfully hand-forged, and Woolpower, is knit with such care that each Swedish seamstress puts her name on the tag. Since our safety wear is sewn right in our Summerville, SC factory, we can stand behind quality control, and respond expediently to spikes in demand necessitated by inclement weather and natural disasters.
