Side by side is a pilot project launched in August 2015 to provide one to one support for clients diagnosed with early stages of dementia. The support is aimed to keep the client involved in activities that they enjoy for as long as possible, encouraging them to be independent and get the most out of life whilst they still can, so that it can have a positive impact on their long term health condition.

Between 2018 and 2023, I have co-ordinated workshops for the annual Home Educating Families Festival, a week-long international festival held every Summer attracting upwards of 800 - 1200 people. Through this festival, we have offered a platform for children to showcase their talent, develop skills, and collaborate with other children, which is totally empowering for them and inspiring for others.Responsibilities included: ⦿ Contacting workshop providers, responding to queries, processing applications ⦿ Creating a schedule for the whole event (incorporating other aspects of the festival too) ⦿ Liaising with and advising the Board members on various aspects of the workshops, including health and safety, risk assessments and financial aspects⦿ Sourcing interesting workshops, speakers, workshop providers, organisations who deliver information⦿ Ensuring supplies for workshops have an agreed value-for-money budget within an extremely tight budget⦿ Empowering children to run their own workshops and showcase their skills⦿ Fostering a community spirit by bringing like-minded people together to contribute to the festival
