I began my career as a communication support worker for Deaf students in 2002, I then became a BSL interpreter apprentice at the BBC SeeHear in 2006, while completing my studies in Deaf Studies and Interpreting, In 2009 I registered as a Trainee Interpreter. Since then I have worked in various domains, developing my skills and experiences in areas such as platform (national and international conferences), training, education (colleges and universities), social work, media, medical, finance and business. Completing my Interpreter training in 2015. As part of my roles in the various companies, I have developed skills and knowledge in business processes, policy development and tendering processes. These experiences have enable me to expand on my knowledge in the procurement processes of interpreting contracts, while ensuring the service that puts the Deaf community at the core, of which I feel very passionate about professionally and personally.In 2023 I completed my diploma in professional supervision for interpreters and allied professionals, supervision is an opportunity for professionals in reflect on their professional practice in a safe and confidential space where they can process those working dilemmas and emotions, allowing for better professional well-being.
