I have spent my career in communications, marketing and training and am so lucky that I really love what I do. I am passionate about employee engagement - motivated employees who understand the vision of the company they work for are its greatest asset. Internal communications has an important part to play particularly in times of change and challenge. From my first job out of university working as a journalist on The Star in Johannesburg to my most recent contract at Unilever I have worked with inspiring people who have taught me so much about the value of diversity in organisations. As an immigrant I love the openess of life in the UK. We still have a long way to go but it's great to be a part of the change I want to see. (Paraphrasing a hero of mine, Mahatma Ghandi) I love learning about new industries and how they tick. I have experience in FMCG, Technology, Foreign Exchange, Retail, Financial Services, Legal, Telecommunications, Rail, Construction, Recruitment, Hotels, Publishing and Education. I relish the opportunity to add some more to that list! Having run my own business in South Africa and then set up on my own in the UK I know the importance of building long term relationships and many of my clients and former colleagues are now close friends.
