As an Executive-level Contaminant Hydrogeologist and DNAPL (Dense Non-Aqueous Phase Liquids) expert, I have over 20 years of global experience with CSMs, investigation, fate and transport, and remediation of contaminated sites in Ontario Canada, the US and Australia. I’ve held national technical leadership and management roles for environmental services. I have provided technical leadership, training and advice both internally and externally. I have managed technical teams in the field and in the office. In addition, I have had significant experience with public speaking in front of small to very large groups. I’ve won and conducted work for global clients (heavy industry) within the pharmaceutical, car, farming equipment, food and steel industries - including promoting and developing implementing innovative technologies and solutions to sites. Most of my work has been related to industrial contamination with LNAPLs and DNAPLs in food manufacturing, automobile and farm equipment manufacturing, the pharmaceutical industry, and federal sites, including the National Aeronautics & Space Administration (NASA) at Cape Canaveral and Department of Defense sites. I have worked on manufacturing sites, landfills, marinas (delineation and remediation), dry cleaners (evaluating bioremediation), service stations, metal fabrication, chemical waste storage sites and other operating facilities.For these sites and others, I have led, managed, reviewed and audited Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) – Phase I and II, and remediation. A critical role has been in developing Conceptual Site Models (CSMs) and depositional environment-informed (using facies models) Conceptual Hydrogeological Models (CHMs) to support investigation, delineation and Risk Assessment (RA). This included Areas of Potential Environmental Concern (APECs), Areas of Concern (AOCs), and related contamination.I developed, marketed and led a field demonstration on High-Resolution Site Characterization (HRSC) on behalf of the IAH at the Orica Botany facility in Sydney Australia. I have implemented HRSC and Triad approaches in the U.S. and Australia on significantly contaminated sites to expeditiously delineate and gain high-quality data to resolve complex contamination issues (and meet various government environmental requirements).
