Dr. Wendy Chen was born in Taiwan and raised in both Taiwan and Los Angeles, California. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from University of California, Davis. She started her interest in veterinary medicine in high school where she did her externship at a local animal hospital. During her gap year after collage, she had worked in animal emergency, animal shelter, and general pet hospital prior going back to veterinary school. She graduated from the Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and completed clinical rotation training from the University of Florida in 2022. She has special interest in integrated veterinary medicine / Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) and has obtained small animal acupuncture certification through the Chi University. Dr. Chen is now excited to offer acupuncture service to help patients with chronic pain at Banfield Pet Hospital at Sarasota (941) 922-9756 !
