• Prepare the project whereby the goals, objectives, risks, project structure, manning levels, roles and responsibilities and deliverables are identified.• Receive and review design data received from the customer.• Management and distribution of data to all internal departments.• Compile RFQ’s for a typical project. The RFQ pack should contain input from Purchasing/Process/Industrial Engineering/Quality Engineering.• Evaluate the feasibility of the project - financially, process capability and timing.• Negotiate pricing internally as well as assist Commercial Manager in conveying negotiations with Customer.• Determine facilities required to manufacture product and then verifying from Capacity plan if capacity is available. • Compile Bill of Material, including recovery rates, material required etc.• Initiate build activities after sales and co-ordinate component availability• Support Process Engineering/Production and QA in the initial trial builds and when needed during product life.• Monitor the overall project and its activities and ensure that resources are available and channeled to produce the planned deliverables on time and within the approved budget. Plan projects using MS Project and track every aspect of the project.• Describe to other departments the different stages and the requirements of the project launch period. Tool Trials, Production Preparation and SOP.• Approving and release drawings for component manufacture. • Arrange Drawing review sessions and assist in the understanding of the design intent. • Control Project Budget • Compile presentations to provide feedback on problems encountered; present this to the customer or to the internal departments.• Raise and coordinate Engineering changes, ensure implementation is smooth and risk-free.• Assist logistics/IE department with design and testing of packaging and other related processes.• Investigate cost saving opportunities on current production items.
