Walter Meier Group merged in 2017 with the company Tobler and rebranded to Meier Tobler in January 2018. The new building technology group Meier Tobler operates with a focus on the Swiss market. The company was founded in 1937 and today counts more than 1,300 employees. Shares in Meier Tobler are listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange (symbol MTG).

Merger of Defensor AG, Pfäffikon/SZ and Condair AG, Münchenstein in 1995.The new entity, under the name of AxAir AG (AxAir Group), became the world largest manufacturer for humidifiers, covering all existing technologies.

Defensor was founded in 1948 and started its activities by developing and selling disinfection devices for animal houses. In the following decades the business shifted towards humidification for agriculture and for industrial production and storage processes. In the 80's, Defensor claimed to be the only company with the triple know-how in humidification, offering a wide range of resistive steam humidifiers, atomizers and evaporators.
