In my current role at Stanley Black & Decker, I support our operations team via projects and productivity events such as Kaizens. I am directly responsible for supporting several manufacturing processes in our facility such as Milling, Setting, Punch (blanking presses), Hole Saw Weld, and OMT Weld. I support our maintenance team when required with troubleshooting down equipment and repairing said equipment if short-handed. Based on input from our quality and operation teams, I develop and work on projects to increase process capacity and productivity, as well as limiting process scrap. For new products utilizing existing equipment, I design new tooling for our machines or work with external vendors to approve designs for complex tooling (Milling department). More recently I have supported a large internal project to bring an entirely new product into our facility. I worked closely with our R&D team and external vendors to optimize the new process of this product before landing on our floor. During the development of the new product, I work with our R&D team and provided input for better manufacturability of the new product and insight into how this would drastically improve future tool life and process control.

For three semesters from January of 2019 to graduation, I was a co-op/intern at Stanley Black & Decker. I worked part-time in this position for semesters I was taking classes. In this role, I supported the operations team via projects and Kaizen events. Notable projects/roles include a redesign of a production quality gauge for better gauge R&R and operator ease of use, statistical analysis of various processes for future optimization such as our milling department and annealing ovens, and was the interim process engineer for our milling department as the previous engineer retired.
