Participated in the award winning turnaround of the company and was responsible as Chief Operating Officer for implementing operating disciplines, development and use of metrics, improving sales, identifying and implementing cost savings initiatives, improvement of management organization, merchandising improvements, buying process improvements.

Direct operating and P&L responsibility for all Walmart stores in the eastern half of the United States during a period of fast growth with direct reports of Regional Vice Presidents. Reported direct to Wal-Mart Vice Chairman as well as serving on the Walmart Executive Committee.

Corporate responsibility for all Special Divisions within Walmart which included all company owned and leased departments including: Pharmacy Division, Optical Division, Shoe Division, Jewelry Division, Automotive Center Division, Food Service Division, Helen's Arts & Craft Stores, Dot's Deep Discount Drug Stores and development of a group of Walmart.

Total Corporate responsibility related to all human resource functions including policies, procedures, benefits, training, recruitment and hiring, Senior Management leadership development, store communications and corporate culture development. Reported direct to Walmart Vice Chairman.

Direct operating and execution of corporate programs as and P&L responsibility for Northern Region with direct reports of 8 District Managers representing 78 stores. Reported to Senior Vice President of Operations.

Corporate responsibility to coordinate all programs between buying, marketing, systems, human resources, and training with store operations. Reported to Executive Vice President of Operations and Merchandising.

Various responsibilities including Store Manager, District Manager and Buyer.
