Semiconductor manufacturing (MEMS devices)I led the micromachining group, a team consisting of 18 engineers, scientists, and technicians as direct reports in the development and fabrication of next generation MEMS devices in a pure play foundry environment. I set and owned a $2M OpEx budget and a $10M CapEx envelope. Leadership responsibilities included hiring, coaching, performance evaluations, and team goal setting. Functional responsibilities included lean manufacturing, engineering, project management, quality, capacity planning, and operations. This role also had a customer-facing aspect, ensuring that our product and process lines continued to meet requirements for the customer’s legacy product.

Building materials manufacturing (Foamular XPS insulation)I was the lead engineer with full end-to-end technical responsibility for the manufacturing site. During my tenure, I saved the foam division $1.2M/year in transportation costs by adapting manufacturing to integrate products made by other manufacturing sites to service new geographies. I led planning and execution of all process trials, saving the division an additional $400k/year in raw material costs and increased throughput by 10%. I managed a team of 2 technicians.
