I’ve been fortunate to work in the museum field for 28 years, 20 as a director. I love connecting people with art and ideas and believe museums are ideal platforms for creative experimentation and innovation. My experience has been in widely varied cultural settings, from New York City to the Inupiaq and Y’upik Eskimo village of Nome, in my home state of Alaska, to my current position in the Spokane, Washington. A focal point of my experience is the development and execution of new capital projects. From larger institutions like the Guggenheim to smaller upstarts like the Pasadena Museum of California Art and the Beringia Cultural Center, I’ve played different roles from planning team member, to managing design discussions with board and community members, and leading capital campaigns.
