Hard work in the Business Development Center paid off and I was promoted to the sales floor. I am now working face-to-face with customers to help them find a vehicle that fits all of their needs and wants. I am honored to be working for one of the highest volume dealerships on the east coast with a team of veteran salespeople. While it is still new I attribute most of my success to the understanding the business development center taught me about how the industry works, and how the consumer now shops for his or her next vehicle.

Working in the business development center at Lexus was my first introduction into the dealership side of the auto industry. I became very confident in phone sales, customer service, and extensive follow-up. I learned how the introduction of the Internet has transformed the industry into a buyers market over the past 20 years through a variety of third party websites, and was able to fully understand how a consumer in 2013 shops for their new vehicle!

Prior Detailing experience and a friendly personality helped me start a business that helped me get through college. While serving tables at a local Bertuccis for a few months I decided to supplement my income by doing what I knew best. I bought all the chemicals and detail equipment I needed and would spend a few hours a week cold calling local catering, pet wash, and delivery companies to see if they would be interested in a detail if I could come to them and do it on site. This worked out well and was good side job while I worked to finish up my degree. Not only was I able to stay busy, but was also building my own work schedule, networking, and going to school. I worked diligently, built great relationships with my customers, and whenever I have time still have a list of people who need a good wash and wax!

Topside Detailing was a great experience for me and gave me lots of freedom at a young age to test my creativity, management skills, and discipline. I was hired on a whim by a fast moving start up from NY and CT. Only 3 years after starting, Topside Detailing was opening their 5th shop in the Northeast region. I was given a mobile detailing unit, a team of 4 people, and an order of about 400 Groupon Certificates to complete by the end of the summer. We organized ourselves with 3 mobile units, and 1 on site location that we booked appointments from. My experience with mobile detailing in high school, and the flexibility of my online schooling made the exactly what they were looking for. By the end of the summer we hired enough people to take over to gain control of the detailing and I spend time at trade shows, and conventions focusing more on the development side of the quickly expanding business.
