The Director, Pricing & Analysis is responsible for developing firm’s pricing strategies, monitoring performance against stated objective, and assessing the financial impact of pricing arrangements. This role will provide advice and counsel to lawyers on profitability concepts, and attorney client communications with regard to pricing strategies. This position will work across all levels of the organization to perform value-based pricing analyses, lead cross-functional pricing projects, and make recommendations to management regarding pricing levels, discounts, and contract negotiations.

• Provides financial guidance and support to Firm leadership (MP, DMPs, ED, CFO, Department Chairs, industry team leaders, and lawyers generally) both individually and via a team of financial analysts. Identifies and plans for the changing needs of these stakeholders and takes the lead in analyses to ensure these groups have relevant information to manage efficiently and effectively. Identifies performance trends and analyzes financial results compared to plans and/or budgets to ensure achievement of performance targets. • Prepares financial analyses to assist in assessment of measuring the payback on business development, lateral hires and other business initiatives and strategies.• Oversees the preparation of the Firm’s annual budget including staffing levels, leverage, billable hours, bill rates, billings, realization and timekeeper turnover, revenue projection, operating expenses, capital expenditures and net income. Reviews and analyzes monthly financial reports and recommends corrective action as appropriate. • Assists in evaluating the profitability of client work performed, utilizing the Firm’s reporting and analytical systems/resources. Communicates directly with department chairs, anchor client CRAs, etc., and assists in the development and implementation of strategies/initiatives to achieve objectives.• Audits, reconciles and oversees the creation of reports, analyses and presentations annually, quarterly and monthly for the Firm and its subsidiaries • Assists marketing with the development and pricing of RFP’s to include Alternative Fee Arrangements as well as follow-up reporting to make sure the agreed upon AFA is on track.• Customarily and regularly directs the work of six or more full time equivalent employees.

• Provides financial and administrative support to practice leaders and firm management through monthly financial analysis of clients, matters, practice groups, and individuals.• Provides support regarding new client and new matter intake, assessment of financial viability of new and existing clients, exception billing rates, analysis of alternative and non-standard billing arrangements and advice on write-downs and write-offs.• Assists in evaluating the profitability of client work performed, utilizing the Firm’s reporting and analytical systems/resources.• Assists in the preparation of practice group annual budgets.
