As a mom of three, I understood the need to stay at home with my children while they were small. I took time away from working and from school to be with them and take care of our household. Once they got a little older, I went back to school and completed my bachelors degree in accounting. Now, after a few years of experience, I am the Director of Accounting at 901 Properties. Still though, I have the desire to obtain my CPA license, and I am currently studying for the brutal four exams. In the accounting world I tend to excel at general bookkeeping and account reconciliations. I am a stickler for numbers being exact and I loathe unbalanced accounts. I am experienced in a wide variety of accounting skills, such as accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and financial reporting. While I do try to steer away from income tax returns, I don't mind filing sales tax or making payroll tax payments. That's not to say that I don't understand income tax returns- they just don't "tickle my fancy" the way bookkeeping does. I like to joke that I know "just enough to be dangerous". Personality wise, I'm very friendly and chatty. I am the type of person who never meets a stranger and I enjoy getting to know new faces. I tend to become friends with those who are older than myself; my husband calls me an "old soul". I even joke that I'm technically a millennial, I identify as being Gen. X! On Sundays I teach 2 and 3 year old Sunday School to an amazing group of kids. I'm biased, of course, but I think they're awesome. My family is very active in our church and we volunteer regularly there.
